The Football Association have today released details of the initial rounds of both the F.A. Cup and Vase competitions.
Having been drawn at home in the first rounds of both competitions last season our fortunes have changed as we begin both competitions this season with away draws.
First up is the F. A. Cup on 15th August, when we have been drawn away to Woodbridge Town of the Ridgeon's Premier League in the extra preliminary round. Last season, Woodbridge finished 18th in the Ridgeon's league recording 9 victories in 40 outings. Based on last seasons league placing's the tie would appear to be evenly balanced. The winner of this fixture will face a trip to either Stowmarket Town or Mildenhall Town, both from the Ridgeon's League.
The F.A. Vase see's us make the short trip to Newmarket, where we will play Newmarket Town also from the Ridgeon's League. The Jockeys had a very successful season in 2008/09 as they finished Champions of Division 1. The tie is to be played on 19th September.
The Saints will be looking to call, on their fantastic travelling support that provided exceptional vocal support during the competition last season. Travel arrangements will be released nearer to the fixtures.
